Oxyvaxpolvo

Composition: 

Each 1  g contains : Oxytetracycline hydrochloride 757 mg

(eq.to oxytetracycline base 701.44 mg) 

Properties:

• Oxytetracycline is a tetracycline bacteriostatic antibiotic. It inhibits protein synthesis by binding to 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome. It has a broad spectrum effect includes gram positive bacteria (Bacillus spp., Clostridium spp., and S.aureus), gram negative bacteria (Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Pseudomonas spp., E.coli, Salmonella spp., Enterobacter spp.) and Mycoplasma spp.

Target species:

• Broiler chickens 

Indications:

Treatment of: 

• Arthritis associated with S.aureus.
• Chronic respiratory diseases (CRD) associated with Mycoplasma spp.
• Colibacillosis associated with E.coli.
• Fowl cholera associated with P.multocida.
• Fowl coryza associated with H.paragallinarum.
• Gangrenous dermatitis associated with Clostridium spp.
• Omphalitis associated with Pseudomonas spp. and Enterobacter spp.
• Sallmonellosis associated with Salmonella spp. 

Dosage & Administration:

• Route of administration: Orally via drinking water.

• For whole product :

– in water: For whole product: 2.85 gm /10 liters/ 7-14 days =30- 50 gm /ton bwt
– in feed: 300 gram/ton feed
– all other sources of water removed until the medicated water has been consumed.

Warnings and precautions:

• Use of the product should be based on susceptibility testing of bacteria isolate from animal.

• Prolonged or repeated use should be avoided as these practices can enforce development and spread of the bacterial resistance.  

Contra-indications:

• Do not use in birds that are producing or may in future produce eggs or egg products for human consumption. 

• Do not use in case of hyper sensitivity to oxytetracycline or any other substance from tetrcyclines group.
•  Do not use in cases of known oxytetracycline resistance. 

Side-effects:

• The tetracyclines are relatively safe drugs but severe liver damage can follow overdosage in birds. 
• Gastrointestinal disorder and less frequently, allergic and photosensitivity reactions.  

Withdrawal time:

Meat&offal: 7 days 

Eggs: do not use in laying birds producing eggs intended for human consumption. 

Storage conditions: 

Store at temperature not exceeding 30◦C in dry place and used immediately after opening and reconstitution.
